The Federal NDP is organizing its Convention in Hamilton this fall. The convention will take place from Friday, October 13th to Sunday, October 15th, 2023, with a Youth Convention on Thursday, October 12th. This presents a great opportunity to connect with New Democrats nationwide and contribute to shaping our movement's policy direction. Prior to the convention, the Ottawa—Vanier NDP will hold a meeting to pass resolutions for submission and elect delegates.

For those interested in drafting and submitting policy resolutions, linked here is the 2018 NDP Convention's Guide to Resolutions, as well as the NDP Policybook as of the last Federal Convention in 2021. If you are interested in running for one of the Ottawa—Vanier NDP's delegate positions (5 delegates + 1 youth) OR in submitting a policy resolution for the meeting, email us at i[email protected]. 

Please note that only members in good standing of the NDP can submit resolutions, vote at our Policy Resolution and Delegate Meeting, and attend the Federal NDP Convention. To verify your membership status, you can contact [email protected], or call 1-866-525-2555 option 1 to speak with Federal NDP staff (Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm EST). A membership with the Provincial NDP means you’re also a member of the Federal NDP.
